Czech: Jan Čihák, PhD

“My career has been shaped by a passion for international education and the International Baccalaureate. After studying Czech and French Philology at Charles University in Prague, I taught in several international schools before taking on leadership roles within the IB Diploma Programme. I currently serve as an IB Diploma Programme Coordinator at an international school in Prague, where I had the privilege of building the programme from the ground up.

In addition to my school role, I work closely with the International Baccalaureate as an examiner for Czech and Slovak Literature. I have also collaborated directly with the IB Organization in Kazakhstan and delivered online professional development courses for IB Diploma English A: Literature teachers, supporting educators from around the world.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy staying active and creative. Whether I'm cycling through the countryside, reading a good book, playing guitar with one of my two bands, or performing on stage, I value opportunities to keep learning and challenging myself. I also find great satisfaction in gardening and working around our house, where I can unwind and enjoy creating something with my own hands.”
