Join Speak! Language Center and Japanese instructor Yukari Leiser for a hands-on workshop exploring the tradition of senbazuru (1,000 paper cranes), where cranes symbolize hope, peace, longevity, and human connection. Inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki and the Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima, participants will create origami cranes that Yukari will personally deliver to Hiroshima during her July visit to Japan.
No origami experience is necessary. Whether you're curious about Japanese culture, interested in learning a few Japanese words, or simply looking for a meaningful creative experience, adults and children are welcome.
