Join Our Teaching Team

Speak! Language Center is growing, and we’re looking for talented, engaging language teachers to join our Charlottesville teaching community.

We are currently seeking English (ESL), Spanish, French, and American Sign Language (ASL) instructors for in-person teaching in Charlottesville. We also welcome applications from teachers of other languages, as our needs continue to grow.

Since 2004, Speak! has connected language learners with exceptional instructors for personalized, real-world language learning. Our students include adults, children, professionals, university students, families, and lifelong learners, with instruction ranging from private lessons to small groups and customized programs.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re interested in teachers who:

  • Have experience teaching their language to learners at different levels

  • Create engaging, communicative, student-centered lessons

  • Enjoy working one-on-one and with small groups

  • Are dependable, personable, and comfortable adapting lessons to individual goals

  • Live in or near Charlottesville and are available for in-person teaching

Formal teaching credentials are welcome, but we also value strong teaching experience, cultural knowledge, and the ability to make language come alive.

Current Opportunities

Our most immediate needs are for English/ESL, Spanish, French, and ASL instructors, but teachers of Italian, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and other languages are always welcome to introduce themselves.

Teaching with Speak! is flexible and works especially well for educators, graduate students, retired teachers, and experienced language instructors who would like to add private or small-group teaching to their schedules.

Interested?

We’d love to hear from you. Please send a brief introduction and résumé/CV to info@speaklanguagecenter.com and tell us which language(s) you teach, your teaching experience, and your general availability.

Language is Human. So are We.
